bulletNobody Said That It Was Going To Be Easy...

I came home from the hospital on the afternoon of Tuesday 14th December 2004. I'm learning how to live at home with Mamma and Daddy, and I guess they are learning how to live with me!

I didn't have a very good first night at home. I kept Mamma, Daddy and Nonna awake all night! The less said about that the better really.

Mamma is breast feeding me. I will spare you the details of my toilet habits, but I will tell you that I really dislike being changed and I leave no doubt in how I feel about this. Mamma and Daddy are receiving regular visits from the community midwife, so everyone is feeling a lot more confident about looking after me.

Here are some more photos:

bulletFriends And Family

I met Uncle Stephen and Auntie Anne for the first time on 14 December 2004. I think I gave them a good impression!
On 16/12/2004, I had a visit from Barrie and Jackie Henwood. Barrie and Jackie are good friends of my parents; in fact Daddy grew up with their children Richard and Anna.
On 19/12/2004, Cristina's friend Mauro came to visit. Mauro and Cristina grew up together in Palermo.
I met my Grandad John on Christmas Day. He was very pleased to meet me for the first time.

bulletMy Hectic Lifestyle

It's a hard life being a baby! I get to sleep a lot, then Mamma feeds me, Daddy changes me, then I fall asleep again. In the meantime, Nonna Carmen tries to keep Mamma and Daddy sane. If I am feeling charitable, I may let them all play with me for a while.

Ahhhh... That's better.
This is my Mamma. She knows where my next meal is coming from.
This is Daddy. Oh dear. He looks a bit tired doesn't he? I wonder why?
My new bed. While I am too small for my proper bed in the nursery, I am using a mini-cot that joins onto Mamma and Daddy's bed.
Mamma and Daddy have learnt that the best way to change my nappy without me screaming is to feed me first. I eat, I fall asleep and I wake up with a clean nappy. Fantastic!
Daddy is reminded of the old disco song 'Y.M.C.A.' for some reason.

bulletGoing Out

On Thursday 23rd December 2004, I went out for a brief trip to Woodley Town Centre with my parents and Nonna Carmen. This was my first trip outside the house since coming home from the hospital, so it was a wonderful opportunity for me to use my new pramette and get used to my car seat. It appears that I spent practically the entire time asleep. Perhaps my parents should try to find a more interesting destination next time!

As you can see, I am wearing a white winter coat with a teddy bear motif and ears. It's what all the fashionable babies are wearing this season.

Daddy was very impressed by the handling and ease of use of my pramette. I thought it was... very comfortable (yawn).

bulletGifts

On 16/12/2004 I was sent a surprise present by Paul Richer (Cristina's boss) and his family. There was a mobile, a baby book, booties, a toy and a blanket inside a huge parcel. Thank you!
Daddy also received some flowers from his company, EDS. Thank you!

bulletSpooky!

David - 3 weeks old

Daddy at 3 weeks

Giulia at 10 days

Several people (in particular Uncle Stephen) have remarked that I look a bit like my Daddy. H'mm... I can't see what the fuss is all about to be honest!

Compare this photo of me with one of my Daddy at roughly the same age. Daddy will continue to gather evidence and will probably embarrass me at great length when I am older.
