bulletIn Which We Are Introduced To Giulia, And Her Story Begins

After maintaining my diary all through my gestation, my Daddy is now going to record my development and my new life outside of Mamma. He'll try to do this in between feeds, nappy changes, sleepless nights and the general chaos that I will bring to my parents' lives. He's so optimistic, isn't he?

bulletMy First Year

I discover the joys of breasty milk, a clean nappy, regular baths and lengthy naps.

Some food is more real than other food. Baby gymnastics. Bathtime part VI. This eating lark can be a bit messy!

10 May 2005

Along with big beautiful eyes and a cute face, I had inherited a partially tongue-tied frenulum (Ankyloglossia) from my Daddy. This tongue tie was stopping me from breast feeding properly. Today I had a minor operation at Southampton General Hospital to correct this problem. Now I can stick my tongue out at the world!

For more information about Ankyloglossia, click here.

20 April 2005

Two things happened today:

  1. I had another round of immunisation shots. These were the second booster set for DTP-Polio-Hib and Meningococcus Group C. Again, Mamma was very proud of me because I didn't cry too much.

9 February 2005

I had my first set of injections. One of them was for DTP-Polio-Hib (Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis, Polio, and
Haemophilus Influenza B) - all in one injection. The other injection was for Meningococcus Group C. I was very brave and I only let out a blood curdling cry for about a minute. Mamma and Daddy were expecting a performance similar to one I make for bathtimes!

5 January 2005

It's hard enough being a baby without lots of things really, really upsetting me. Little things like hunger, dirty nappies and bathtime. Daddy and Mamma are trying their best but they aren't perfect. Yelling at them seems to help get the job done slightly quicker.
