Mind you,
I understand a lot more than just this. My parents have discovered
that if I am in the right mood, I will get things when asked,
especially if they are books or toys.
Hydrophobia
I'm not
very keen on water. Or perhaps more specifically I am not
very keen on being in water apart from my bath. An example:
when my family had a barbeque with Ellen's family Mamma filled
my paddling pool with water. Ellen jumped in and started splashing
around. When Mamma put me in the water... Oh dear.
My parents
rationalised my reaction as follows:
- After
the great success of my swimming
lessons last year where I cried and cried until my parents
decided that they couldn't stand the stress of me being
so upset (mission accomplished!), perhaps I had developed
a mild case of Hydrophobia. This is probably not the case
(see below) since I love bath time!
- Even
if the weather was very hot, the water was very, very cold.
- Water
doesn't belong in my paddling pool - plastic balls should
live there. Why would you want to put water in a ball pit?
Duh.
- Like
with most things in my life, I am happiest when I decide
what happens. My parents think they have learnt the subtle
trick of making me think that I am in control when in fact
they are. I didn't want to go in the water-filled paddling
pool at that particular moment in time so putting me in
there was a big mistake. If my parents had allowed me time
to decide that the water wasn't so bad after all, perhaps
I would have gone in without complaint. But only if there
was a 'Z' in the month and there were a couple of pigs in
flight above our house.
My parents
have started exposing me to bodies of water outside the bathroom.
We will find out whether they have cured my fears when we
return to Centerparcs in July. Daddy has told me that there
are lots of swimming pools there (shock! horror!) and that
I will be going swimming (gasp!). We shall see.
New Nursery
I started
at my new nursery in Basingstoke on 19th June 2006. I'm there
for three extended mornings a week. So far I am enjoying it;
my key workers are friendly and cuddly and we do lots of arts
and crafts.
Daddy's
sorry that my art gallery has not been kept up to date while
I was not at nursery. Once new artwork has been generated
by Giulia Designs™ it will appear on my webpage.

It's

Playdate
with Ellen. The grownups had a barbeque. I thought the
ball pit was much better with balls in it. |
